I must repent (be sorry that I have sinned) and in my heart turn away from my sins, and in faith, ask God to forgive me. "If we confess our sins, he (The Lord) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9) "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God...: (John 1:12)
After I have repented, and confessed my sins to God, I must accept salvation by faith, the faith that the Lord provides. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." (Eph. 2:8) "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as wool" (Is. 1:18) "...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7) Jesus said, "...him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37)
